The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has been working on a project that will use blockchain technology for securities settlement. This initiative will deploy blockchain technology to efficiently link up funds transfer and securities transfer, eliminating both buyers’ and sellers’ risk in the DvP process.
The goal is to reduce the time it takes to settle trades from three days to one day. This will make Singapore's stock exchange more competitive with other exchanges in the region. The MAS has been working with several partners on the project, including IBM and eight financial institutions.

SGX Nifty is a Derivative of the Nifty, which is traded in the Singapore stock exchange, SGX NIFTY are derivative contracts that allow investors to trade the performance of the Nifty 50. The SGX NIFTY is based on the original Nifty 50 Index, and its prices are quoted in Singapore dollars.
