Singapore is known for its strong economy and efficient government. It is now looking to implement blockchain technology to further improve its standing. The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has been working on a project that will use blockchain technology for securities settlement. This initiative will deploy blockchain technology to efficiently link up funds transfer and securities transfer, eliminating both buyers’ and sellers’ risk in the DvP process.

The goal is to reduce the time it takes to settle trades from three days to one day. This will make Singapore's stock exchange more competitive with other exchanges in the region. The MAS has been working with several partners on the project, including IBM and eight financial institutions.

What is SGX Nifty (SGX Nifty Futures)

SGX Nifty is a Derivative of the Nifty, which is traded in the Singapore stock exchange, SGX NIFTY are derivative contracts that allow investors to trade the performance of the Nifty 50. The Nifty 50 Index is a stock market index composed of 50 Indian companies from various industries. The SGX NIFTY is based on the original Nifty 50 Index, and its prices are quoted in Singapore dollars. Indian Nifty trades on the NSE, which is the Indian stock exchange platform, the SGX nifty is the futures trade nifty in Singapore where as the price of the share is preset, the buyer and seller have to commit to that pre-decided price in spite of any changes that may take place in the stock market in the future. The SGX nifty helps to predict and observe the behavior of the Indian Nifty and thus has an important role to play in the Indian stock market.
